There have been some challenges with the 64 bit Vista drivers for 4D Embroidery. I understand from students an error message continues although the driver is installed. While doing some research I came across information on the Viking site addressing the error.
The software is unable to consistently detect the installation of the 64 bit driver and therefore sends the error.
If you see the error but have the drivers installed and operational, Viking recommends ignoring the message.
The screen shot below is captured from the Husqvarna Viking Software Registration site. To get to the Registration site, launch 4D Configure and click on Smart Update. The Smart Update will gather software information from your computer to interface with the Viking web site (isn’t that smart?).
Scroll down the page to see items to review and consider for installation. Close to the bottom is the section on Device Drivers. Within the section is the information on the 64 bit drivers.
