Lin has sewn for a number of years and added embroidery to her creativity in 2002. She looked for embroidery software instruction with little luck. She would ask questions at her local Viking dealer and found few knew the product. She developed an expertise with the software and was asked by her dealer to share her knowledge. Over the years Lin continued her study of the software and developed her love of teaching. It’s the aha moments for her students that inspires her to teach. She works hard to ensure her students learn. She takes the time to walk through the steps, explain the process and the why. When she hears “that’s how you do that” or “I didn’t know you could do that” she knows her students are getting it.
Hi Marie, I’m so glad you found me and are finding the site useful.
Hi Alexandra, Yes my post have become few and far between. I have been busy with other things but hope to do new postings soon. They will be on a different site: SewCreativeThreads.com. I will let my followers at LinSews.com know of posts at the other site when they occur.
Just found your lessons after 2 years of struggling with my 4D Extra. Thanks so much for having them available It has really helped me.
Dear Lin,
I’ve greatly appreciated learning from your tutorials online. I’m noticing that you have skipped a few months. Here’s hoping you are well, and able to resume some day soon. I really miss your teaching. Thank you for all you’ve done so far.
Missing your lessons,
Alexandra Dombrowski
I can’t thank you enough for your tutorials. I’ve had my Diamond and software for a year without knowing much to do with it. Thanks to your generosities, I am able to enjoy my equipment to the fullest. I don’t have enough hours in my day for all this fun. Thank you again.
Hi Linda, I’m glad you have found the tutorials helpful. The software is very powerful and allows for a great world of creativity with our embroidery machines. Thanks for visiting. LIN
I’ve been struggling with Pfaff 3D Creative software and am learning much from your tutorials. Thank you so much for noting in your summaries if the topic discussed is helpful for 3D.
Thanks so much.
Suzie, I do not have written instructions for my videos. Putting the videos together takes quite a bit of time and I haven’t invested the additional time to provide written documentation. LIN
Are there any “written” instructions that go along with the videos? I’m learning alot from these videos and thank you.
i am so grateful for these videos..
they are so easy to understand, finally ,i know how to change the color order.
thank you so very much,
glory
Anne, You sure can. It’s exciting to know your creative juices are flowing and you are spring boarding from a little inspiration onto new great ideas. Isn’t this software fun!
Oh goody, then I haven’t missed anything. I need to go through your heart pin lesson but could that “patch pin” also be used to create a base for the snowflake names to make a pin or tree ornament? A great big hug and thank you for doing these fab lessons. They really are super. Anne
Linda, I don’t have a signup feature on my website but you can use Attensa or any other RSS feed notification software. I use Attensa. My post are typically published at 12:01 am Sunday mornings. HTH LIN
Anne, They don’t go back any farther than November. I made a commitment to start working creating these lessons last fall. In late December early January I committed to posting weekly. I’ve been pretty consistent. I typically post very early Sunday morning. So stay tuned.
Lin, I am honestly in heaven with your wonderful, marvellous, fantastic little lessons. They are the greatests. An actually class of an hour or so can be just way too much to remember all the details but yours are just the right amount of time and then I can drop back into 4D and try them out – and wham!! You have installed it into my computer and hopefully my head. ggg I am in awe. Are we able to go back any further into last year or just November as I want more of this great stuff ya know. Anne
Lin, I love your tutorials, they are great. I am wondering if there is a way to “sign up” to know when you update with a new tutorial? Can’t see a spot here but I may very well be overlooking something easy!
thanks! Linda
Lin: Your tutorials are really great. Easy to follow. As a result I am learning much more about my software.
I too am looking forward to your trainin/teaching videos. Thanks a lot. Stella
Carolann, I’m not exactly sure what you need to do. You can bring the block into Editor identify a block and tilt the identified part. If you have 4D sketch you can create arched stitches, copy them into the Clipboard and add them to your design in Studio. If this doesn’t help provide, a few more specifics and I’ll try again.
Lin I am very impressed. I wanted to send a design picture to my daughter and had no idea how to do it.–and there it was. Thank you so much.
I came here from the link you put into Pfaffyahoogroup. I was hoping you can solve my problem. I want to import a machine stitch and arch it from one embroidery design to another. I am doing the Latte quilt and if you look at block number 4 you will understand what I want to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Carolann
Harriett,
I’m glad you like the videos. The videos can not be downloaded and saved. At some time I would like to organize and reproduce the collection of videos and publish them to a DVD and offer them for sale. You are seeing the results of my learning curve and experience. It takes bit to learn the software to produce these videos and a bit more to organize, plan and execute the lesson. As I get to a proficient level I will be looking to produce and sell the videos. Stay tuned. LIN
your videos are great! can they be downloaded to my computer and copied to a dvd so i can watch them with my dvd player while working with the software and not have to keep switching back and forth. you have really went the extra mile in helping everyone with your lessons. thank again. harriett
Barbara,
Thank you! You made my day. I’m thrilled that you followed along with my video and create the Valentine pin. It’s also exciting to know you stitched them out and shared them with friends. I hope you had a great Valentine’s Day. LIN
Lin, your lessons are terrific! Thank you for sharing them with us. You make me feel as if I can do anything with my 4D software! I made Valentine Pins for some of my friends and they were tickled pink!
